My work explores the intricate balance between motherhood and self-identity. Using photography on fabric and quilting alongside video, I blend traditional and digital techniques to express themes of connection, endurance, and the personal transformation that motherhood entails. Inspired by the rhythms of daily life—its stresses, joys, and the inevitable passage of time—I investigate how these forces shape both the maternal self and the deeper self.
Through my art, I aim to portray the silent weight of maternal labor and the shifting identity that comes with it. The tactile nature of fabric and quilting speaks to the physicality of caregiving, while the photographic and video elements bring a digital immediacy that mirrors the constant, sometimes overwhelming presence of social media. This layering captures the interplay between public and private selves, hoping to resonate with those navigating similar spaces of visibility, care, and self-reflection.
